Google to Delete Inactive Accounts
Google has announced a new policy that will delete accounts that have been inactive for two years, effective December 1, 2023. This means users who do not log in to their accounts will lose access to essential services like Gmail, YouTube, and Google Drive, along with all associated data such as emails and photos.
However, accounts belonging to organizations, as well as those with active content on platforms like YouTube, will not be affected. Users can keep their accounts active by simply logging in, sending emails, or using Google services regularly.
The move aims to improve resource management and reduce operational costs for Google, but it has raised concerns among users about the potential loss of valuable information from inactive accounts.
