John Lydon Critiques Rock and Roll Pillars

John Lydon, known as Johnny Rotten from the Sex Pistols, recently expressed his skepticism about the concept of 'rock and roll pillars,' specifically dismissing Pink Floyd as one of them. In an interview, he responded to Bob Geldof's claim that Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side of the Moon' is a classic rock album, stating that while he enjoys the album, it doesn't embody rock and roll.
Lydon emphasized that the essence of rock and roll is different from what Pink Floyd represents, recalling that their music felt more like pleasant landscapes during his experiences with LSD. He also mentioned that he preferred their live performances over their records, as they provided more excitement.
Additionally, Lydon will be performing with his band P.I.L. at the Azkena Rock Festival in June, alongside other notable acts, showcasing his ongoing influence in the rock scene.
