Somerset House fire: Artwork safe as blaze contained
A fire broke out at Somerset House in central London, prompting the response of around 125 firefighters. The blaze, which started in the west wing just before midday, has been largely contained, with efforts focused on extinguishing remaining pockets of fire in the roof space. Fortunately, no artworks were in the affected area, and there have been no reported injuries.

Somerset House, known for hosting various art exhibitions and events, has assured the public that all staff and visitors were safely evacuated when the fire was detected.
