NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, who launched aboard Boeing's Starliner, are set to remain on the International Space Station (ISS) until early 2025 due to delays with their spacecraft. Initially expected to return after a week, they have now been in space for over 11 weeks and will join the Crew-9 mission from SpaceX, which is scheduled to launch on September 24.

As part of Crew-9, Williams and Wilmore will take on full expedition crew roles, including conducting spacewalks, maintaining the ISS, and performing scientific experiments. They have already begun routine tasks and have even engaged in light-hearted activities, such as Olympic-themed games in microgravity.

Despite the challenges of an extended stay without personal belongings, NASA has ensured that the astronauts are well-equipped and trained for their duties. The agency is monitoring resources closely, as the presence of additional crew members increases the consumption of supplies aboard the ISS.
