Tesla is advancing its humanoid robot, Optimus, which aims to move like a human. To achieve this, the company is hiring individuals to capture human movements, a process known as motion capture. This method, while not new, is being utilized on a large scale to train the robot.

The role, titled Data Collection Operator, involves wearing a motion capture suit and performing various actions for extended periods. Candidates must meet specific physical requirements and be willing to work flexible hours, with pay ranging from $25.25 to $48 per hour.

Elon Musk is optimistic about Optimus, projecting its use in Tesla factories by early 2025 and availability for external customers by 2026. However, experts caution that the success of the robot is not guaranteed, despite the extensive data collection efforts.
